It has become a tradition for the National Biodiesel Conference to really kick off each year with a Super Bowl Party.
This year’s event was held at the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal Studios and the place was packed with green biodiesel backers rooting for teams in red, white and blue. One of the highlights of the evening was a special appearance by Football Hall of Famer Jack Youngblood, who helped to support the National Biodiesel Foundation by autographing footballs and other memorabilia during the party.
It was great to hear that Jack is a native Floridian and a University of Florida Gator, which is the alma mater of both me and my husband Chuck, who has been the conference blogger for the past two years. Unfortunately, this year the conference overlaps with the National Cattlemen’s conference in Reno – so Chuck is attending that meeting while I am the designated conference blogger this year, with the able help of Domestic Fuel biodiesel expert John Davis.
Meeting Jack Youngblood was a special thrill for sports fan John who got to interview him and will be posting that later.
