First on the program at the National Biodiesel Conference was the Collegiate Biodiesel Producers Forum. There are more biodiesel production facilities at colleges than ever. I spoke with Susan Williams and Ilya Tabakh, KU Biodiesel Initiative, to learn about this first time session which is meant to guide young producers on their path to joining the biodiesel industry.
Ilya says the idea behind the forum was to bring a group of collegiate producers together to share ideas and learn how to work together better including with industry organizations like the National Biodiesel Board. Attendees came from a number of different universities. Hopefully this forum will encourage more students and universities to get involved with biodiesel and to attend the conference.
