In a year when representation for biodiesel in Washington D.C. was more critical than ever, it was the chief operating officer of the National Biodiesel Board who stepped up to the plate to fill in as vice president of federal affairs to allow the organization to search for just the right person to take on this vital role. Doug Whitehead did a great job navigating the rough waters of federal policy for six months but he is very happy to be handing that role over now to Kurt Kovarik, former senior adviser for Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), who just started a couple of weeks ago.
Whitehead and Kovarik participated in the policy panel with one of the original biodiesel champions, former Sen. Byron Dorgan; and policy consultants Jim Massie and Myles Getlan.
