A podcast is a recorded radio program in the form of a digital audio file, usually an MP3 file. This audio file is included in an RSS Feed so that your computer can subscribe to it and automatically download that audio file for you to listen to either on your computer or portable audio player, like an iPod. You’ll need podcast subscription software on your computer (see this list) or you can now easily subscribe if you have iTunes or Yahoo Music Engine.
With your podcast subscription software or online music service you’ll want to use the following file link in the appropriate subscription box to subscribe to the Conference Podcast: http://blog.biodieselconference.org/documents/nbb-podcast.xml
That’s it. Then your software will check that file for the latest National Biodiesel Conference Podcast and automatically download it onto your computer into the folder you specified when you set up the software. If you use a digital audio player, the file will be placed onto it when you synchronize the player with your computer. Then you can listen to the Conference Podcast whenever and wherever you want.

confused on how to get this program
Hi Terry:
To start with, each time we post a new interview you’ll be able to listen to it immediately by clicking on the link for the audio file. What this podcast file does is allow you to subscribe to the series of interviews on your computer. You need software on your computer to do this. I think iTunes is the best one right now although there are several. If you go to http://www.apple.itunes.com it will tell you how to download it. It’s free. Once you have it downloaded you’ll be able to subscribe to podcasts like ours using that file that’s listed in the “How to Subscribe” page.
I hope this helps.
I was very keen to gain your opinion of podcasting conferences. I work with a farming group in South Australia that have decided not to podcast their conference due to:
1)Devaluing their membership, as non members will beable to download the feed.
2)They believe that farmers do not appreciate free information and would value the information moreso if they were charged or attended the conference.
Can you help me to convince the Board that podcasting would be a benefit to their orgainisation. Have you any evidence that since podcasting you conference that members are happy, your membership base has increased etc.
